The Mission

Less thirsty turf. More living desert.

We grow and give away free seed packs of native Sonoran Desert plants to Arizona homeowners. Every pack replaces a patch of thirsty, imported landscaping with wildflowers that evolved right here β€” plants that thrive on monsoon rain and feed the pollinators, hummingbirds, and native bees our desert depends on.

One yard at a time, we're stitching habitat back together across Arizona β€” and your donation is what fills the seed packs.

The Plants

Five natives in every pack

Each species is hand-selected for Arizona yards: tough, beautiful, and loved by wildlife.

Desert Marigold

Baileya multiradiata

Cheerful golden-yellow blooms nearly year-round on silvery foliage. A magnet for butterflies and one of the easiest desert wildflowers to grow from seed.

Beginner favorite

Mexican Gold Poppy

Eschscholzia californica ssp. mexicana

Sheets of glowing orange across the desert floor every spring β€” Arizona's easiest, fastest native annual. Scatter in fall, water, and watch it carpet the ground.

Easiest from seed

Brittlebush

Encelia farinosa

Silvery mounds crowned in golden daisies every spring β€” the hillside glow of the Sonoran Desert. Extremely drought-hardy and nearly carefree.

Nearly carefree

Parry's Penstemon

Penstemon parryi

Tall wands of hot-pink trumpet flowers in early spring β€” a hummingbird favorite. Sow in fall, then enjoy the show with almost no effort.

Hummingbird favorite

Desert Bluebells

Phacelia campanularia

Electric cobalt-blue cups on coiled stems β€” a rare true blue in the desert and an absolute native-bee magnet. Easy, fast, and unforgettable in bloom.
